LCA Read-a-thon

Welcome to the LCA Read-A-Thon! We are fundraising through the month of March for our new school building. Our students need your help! They are going to be reading, but they need you to sponsor them to raise the money. Sponsors can give a flat fee or sponsor per hour. They can set a maximum amount. (Example, John Smith wants to pledge $1/hour, to a maximum of $20.)

From February 14th until February 28th, students will collect sponsors. The read-a-thon will start March 1, 2022 and will end March 31st, 2022. A pledge form will be sent home with a tracking sheet.(We would like to track how many hours the WHOLE school reads. So we ask that tracking sheets be sent every Monday.)  At the end of March, parents will need to collect the pledge money.  The due date for the money to be given/sent to Abby Schimke (school receptionist) is April 14th, 2022.

We are shooting for the stars! Our goal for the read-a-thon is $30,000. Our students will have rewards throughout the month for their reading as well as a big reward at the end of the read-a-thon, if they can reach this goal. That will be announced at a later date.

Info on the Land & Building

The land for the new school building is located in Podgal Park, on the west side of Sylvan Lake. There are other fundraisers going on besides this read-a-thon. With that said, the goal is 1 million dollars. The 1 million roughly covers land and infarstructure. Our new school building will have a gym, many classrooms, kitchen and room for growth. We are DREAMING BIG for this school building!

How to Donate outside of the Read-A-Thon

The amazing Abby Schimke has set up a PayPal to be able to donate anytime. Donations over $20 will qualify for a tax receipt, upon request. If you have sponsors that want to give a flat fee for this fundraiser, they can use PayPal. There will be a button on our school website that will take you directly to the PayPal site.
